A Full Time Accountant / Contracts Officer opportunity has become available to join the Finance team at our Bundoora Head Office. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day finance functions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Become the key contact for all relating to existing government contracts, including:
    • Ensure the compliance of Dyson’s contractual obligations by liaising with various departmental staff to ensure conformance.
    • Track periodical payments received for services provided, ensuring that reasons for varying payment are fully understood.
    • Prepare all vehicle claims to Government parties for vehicle replacements.
    • Verify annual government entitled portion of advertising revenue received.
    • Be involved in the tendering process for future contracts, specifically in relation to analysis of costing calculations.
    • Maintain Contract Summary Schedule in line with the Accounting System.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial results, including journal entries, error checking, variance analysis, etc.
  • Assist with preparation/completion of EOM reports as required
  • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register – tracking capital additions & disposals periodically as well as processing monthly depreciation charges to P&L.
  • Maintain Government contracts filing system.
  • Assist in the annual Budget process – collation & analysis of past performance as well as gaining a thorough understanding of future direction and how that will impact on financial performance.
  • Complete all Tax returns required to be filed with the ATO (GST/BAS/FBT) on a periodic basis.
  • Assist in preparing document for annual external Audit as required and participate in providing responses to auditors on matters raised where required.
  • Review periodic creditors payment runs for accuracy as required.
  • Bank software (currently CommBiz) - daily load to ERP of bank transactional data, queueing payment runs for payment.
  • Assist with new System testing / implementation of new ERP system currently being implemented, as part of wider IT system overhaul.
  • Identify, recommend and facilitate/implement opportunities for continuous improvement measures, to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of reporting generated by the Finance
  • Adhoc tasks as required and instructed by Finance Manager, Accounting Manager and CFO.

 

To be successful in this role, ideally you will be:

  • CPA/CA qualified
  • Experience in using JDE financial software system.
  • Have advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word, etc)
  • Experience/ Understanding of funding through Government contracts would be preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering quality, timely and accurate reporting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise large workloads.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a busy team environment and to be flexible.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards your work
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
