Improved frequency and connectivity for Route 505 & 546

June 11, 2024

From 14 July 2024, bus services will return to Grattan Street, Parkville, improving connectivity for passengers following the reopening of the road to all traffic.

Passengers on Dysons bus routes 505 and 546 will benefit from new timetables including increased frequency and connectivity, making it easier to access key destinations, such as the Parkville Employment Precinct, hospitals, and educational facilities.

  • Passengers on Route 505 Moonee Ponds – Melbourne University will benefit from an extra 216 weekly services, providing a 20-minute service on weekdays and a 40-minute service on weekends.

  • Passengers on Route 546 Heidelberg Station – Melbourne University will benefit from an additional 241 services providing a 20-minute service on weekdays and services running later into the evening to better meet demand. Weekend services are also being introduced.

  • We’re improving the route paths for passengers on routes 505 and 546. Route 505 will integrate with Route 546 in Grattan Street full-time, seven days per week. Passengers on Route 505 can remain on the same bus for services to Heidelberg where it changes over to Route 546 in Grattan Street. Passengers travelling on Route 546 will also not need to change buses to travel on Route 505 to Melbourne Zoo or Moonee Ponds.
