Workforce Planner

A Full-Time workforce planner opportunity has become available to join the Service Delivery Planning team at our Bundoora Head Office. Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day planning functions.


The role:

The purpose of this role is to deliver a sustainable resource planning cycle to ensure the business is able to meet operational commitments. This role is responsible for the long-term and medium-term capacity planning of people and fleet resources.  This role will support multiple contracts from Metropolitan Route Services, School Bus Services, Local Charter, Rail Replacement and V/Line services run from multiple depots across Victoria. 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Driver Resource Planning
  • Assist with Driver Rostering
  • Driver Leave Management
  • Actively participate in capacity planning
  • Routinely perform skills gap analysis and actively participate in creating training strategies and plans.
  • Planned vs actual reporting to maintain and improve wage cost efficiency.
  • Improve and maintain monthly and weekly KPI reporting.
  • Assist with and verify timekeeping processes for our drivers.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategic objectives are met.
  • Assist in the reporting and internal audit requirements to confirm compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the identification of new business opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate with drivers to ensure high standards of service delivery
  • Seek improvement opportunities and actively participate in driving and implementing change


About You

  • Understanding of Business Planning
  • Proven experience in workforce planning role
  • Prior experience in a similar fast-paced role with ability to effectively prioritise.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g. MS Excel, Access, Tableau, Power BI etc)
  • Great team player
  • High level of integrity
  • In depth understanding of driver fatigue rules
